Position Overview:
As a Prep Cook at Stereo 41, you’ll play a vital role in setting the kitchen up for success. Your focus will be on ingredient preparation, station support, cleanliness, and efficiency. This role requires strong organizational skills, consistency, and a proactive mindset. You’ll work closely with the culinary team to ensure service flows smoothly and standards remain high throughout every shift.
Key Responsibilities:
Execute daily prep lists with accuracy and speed
Wash, chop, portion, and prepare ingredients per kitchen standards
Assist with sauces, marinades, dressings, and bulk production as needed
Label, date, and properly store all prepped items
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized prep station and storage areas
Support line cooks during service with backup ingredients and restocking
Follow food safety protocols and uphold all health department standards
Assist with closing duties, deep cleaning, and trash/waste management
Qualifications:
At least 1 year of experience in a professional kitchen preferred
Current Food Handler’s Certificate required
Basic knife skills and understanding of kitchen techniques
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
Positive, team-oriented attitude with a willingness to help across stations
Dependable, punctual, and focused on quality
