Our Cooks are an integral part of the Dining Services team, helping ensure our residents receive nutritious, high-quality meals. Our Cooks:
- Prepare assigned stations for shift.
- Under direction of lead cook/sous chef, prepare individual components of various entrees and food items, adhering to the individual dietary restrictions of residents.
- Maintain kitchen food safety and sanitary food handling in compliance with State, Federal, and DSHS regulations.
- Complete other duties as assigned
What you need to succeed!
- At least 18 years of age.
- Cleared Criminal Record clearance through the Department of Social Services prior to presence in the community.
- Health screening and TB test results not older than 6 months.
- Current First Aid Training and Certifications per Title 22.
- Prior experience as a cook/lead cook (1-2 years preferred)
- Ability to prepare high quality food for our residents, Able to work Holidays and pre-planned events.
- Maintain professional relationships with food and equipment venders.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work with staff and residents
- Able to prepare therapeutic/modified diets.
- Successful completion of recognized food safety course.
Physical Requirements
- The ability to push/pull/carry up to 30lbs
