1099 Compensation: $85-$95/HOUR DOE

Overview

A private household in San Francisco is seeking an experienced Part-Time Temporary Private Chef to prepare healthy, organic, and flavorful dinners for a family of five MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY. The ideal candidate is skilled in vegetable-forward cuisine and can accommodate various dietary restrictions while maintaining a diverse and exciting menu. This role requires a chef who is highly organized, flexible, and may be able to assist in Sonoma on occasional weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and prepare daily meals that align with the family’s dietary preferences, focusing on health-conscious, organic, and seasonal ingredients.

  • Develop a vegetable-forward menu that is both nutritious and flavorful.

  • Source high-quality, organic, and locally-sourced ingredients.

  • Accommodate multiple dietary restrictions and preferences within the household.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked kitchen, ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are met.

  • Occasionally prepare meals for small gatherings or special occasions.

  • Travel to Sonoma on select weekends, sometimes on short notice.

  • Work collaboratively with household staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a Private Chef or in a high-end culinary setting–Michelin experience a plus.

  • Strong background in plant-forward, organic, and health-focused cuisine.

  • Ability to tailor meals to specific dietary needs while maintaining creativity and variety.

  • Michelin experience preferred

  • Experience sourcing and working with farm-to-table ingredients.

  • Highly organized with strong time-management skills.

  • Flexible and adaptable, able to adjust to last-minute schedule changes.

  • Professional, discreet, and respectful of household privacy.
